Did you know there's an accessory that can help you with this? That's right, there's an accessory that solves this problem. It's the recessed branch from Pial Legrand. When we need to branch off cable trays from 4x2 recessed boxes, we have the problem of not being able to achieve a good finish on the branch. Some people cut the conduit cover at an angle, break the side of the box against the wall, or drill into the bottom of the conduit to try and improve the situation, but even with all this work, the finish isn't always good. In some cases, the solutions are quite creative and, when well executed, even work very well. But if there's an accessory that solves this problem once and for all, why waste time with solutions that aren't always adequate? We've been using this accessory for many years. Just as an example, the oldest Legrand catalog we have is from 2004, and this part was already available, but I confess I've never seen anyone use it. I'll explain how it works, and I believe that from now on you'll also want to use this accessory. The accessory has several pre-cuts on all sides, which, in addition to facilitating the use of various types of conduits, also allows the conduit to come out from either side of the accessory. Its use is very simple; you just need to remove the socket or switch from the 4x2 box, install the accessory in its place, and then reinstall the socket or switch. It creates an elevation in the location of the 4x2 box, allowing for the installation of the cable tray with an excellent finish and in a very simple way. The most interesting thing is that it doesn't have to be just Pial Legrand cable trays; you can use this accessory with any other manufacturer or model of cable tray.
