Behind the skin after a wreck. Do these really hold up?

The argument is real. Do wood campers really hold up in an accident. There is a correct way to build a truck camper with wood and aluminum that will last a long time. We have repaired several of our campers in the past after they get into an auto wreck or collision of some kind. The damage is usually localized, does not transfer across the whole build and is usually repairable. In this case it was not. The cost to repair was too high. We have been building these campers here in Palmer Alaska since 1971. That's over 50 years of custom building truck campers. We are far from being "the guru's", we have just learned very particular processes and more importantly, we have stuck with them. We focus heavily on the workmanship quality. Our campers are hand made and proven. I'm not saying that hand made is the secret sauce but it is just a fact that the majority of the RV and truck campers being built today are still hand made, for the most part, but they have lost the attention to detail that makes all the difference with quality. Overall, we are proud of how this camper held up in this accident. We are asked many times throughout the year how our campers actually hold up in an accident with our build method. Well, this is how they look. Many say that this method of glue, wood, staples, and screws, is an inferior approach. Our argument is that is just not the case. The reality is in the quality execution.
