Asian Markets Trade Mixed, Wall Street Futures Rally; Flat Start On D-Street Today? | CNBC TV18

Asia-Pacific markets traded on a mixed note as investors rethink artificial intelligence-driven plays, with focus also on the minutes from the Federal Reserve’s June meeting, set to be released later this week. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei 225 was flat at the open, while the Topix added 0.2%. South Korea’s Kospi added 1.87%, while the small-cap Kosdaq declined 1%. Futures for Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index last traded at 23,253, lower than its previous close of 23,350.03. Meanwhile, GIFT Nifty is indicating a flat start for Indian markets, up 20 points or 0.08%. U.S. stock futures tied to benchmarks are trading higher today following a strong week on Wall Street that drove the Dow Jones Industrial Average to record highs. Futures tied to the Dow Jones Industrial Average benchmark climbed 54 points, 0.10%. S&P 500 futures gained 0.45%, while Nasdaq-100 futures advanced 1.13%. On Friday, U.S. markets closed on a mixed note, with tech stocks bearing the brunt of selling. The Nasdaq 100 closed the session 479 points or 1.60% lower at 29,329.21. The Dow Jones ended 1.14% higher at 52,900.07. The S&P 500 settled flat at 7,483.24.
