Chewin' the Fat is an iconic Scottish comedy sketch show created by and starring Ford Kiernan and Greg Hemphill, alongside a talented ensemble cast including Karen Dunbar, Paul Riley, and Mark Cox. Originally starting as a BBC Radio Scotland program, it transitioned to television and aired from 1999 to 2005 on BBC One Scotland (with later national broadcasts across the UK). The series is famous for its witty, irreverent, and heavily localized humor, brilliantly parodying working-class Scottish life and Glaswegian culture. It introduced audiences to a bizarre and hilarious roster of recurring characters, including the dodgy decorators Bish and Bosh, the aspiring but hopeless actor Ronald Villiers, the hypocritical "Big Man," and the miserable lighthouse keepers Duncan and Malcolm.
