Our love story 👉 Today I'm sharing my love story, which brought me to live in Romania. 👉 I'm from Argentina🇦🇷. He's from Romania🇷🇴 There have been many plans we had that we couldn't fulfill because the pandemic came into our lives and changed everything—as it has happened to many of you. We were scheduled to get married in April 2020 in Romania, but the pandemic prevented me from crossing the Atlantic Ocean from Argentina to Europe and formalize my marriage as I had dreamed. So, I couldn't board my plane to my future husband's country for a matter of two days: I was supposed to fly on March 24, 2020, and the borders closed on the 22nd. With just hours of difference, the boarding gate of my life and my future closed in my face. ✈️ So, together day to day but physically separated, many days passed while we waited for COVID to end. They were months of disappointment and sadness about the increased restrictions, but above all, of uncertainty. We finally found a way to reunite, and never be separated again. ✨ A binational love affair in times of COVID is complicated, because "love is NOT tourism." Love is love, and it's essential for mental health (which is part of overall health: physical and mental). Although for many it's "tourism" and tourism is non-essential, I assure you that everyone who boards a plane in the midst of a pandemic has thousands of more important reasons than merely tourism.
