Matty in his happy place for his 18th birthday. Sadly Matty was starting to come down with a nasty virus and by the end of Carnival we went straight home. Matty did not manage all the commentary that he had wanted to do as it became increasingly difficult to talk. Despite feeling lousy Matty had a lovely time with his carnival friends. He raised funds by handing out his carnival bracelets and inspected/admired every carnival entry. So much love was shown Matty’s way, from a special medal, a radio interview, a few newspaper stories which I haven’t seen. Gifts, memorabilia, waves, shout outs, birthday signs and even a banner. T shirts, badges, a special jigsaw. Honestly blown away by the love shared. This is Matty’s video of Parkway this year, his most special place. He’s poorly so please be kind, this is for his memories and means a great deal to him. Thank you to all the carnival clubs from Somerset/Devon who showered Matty with love on his special day. Congratulations to everyone who made such a wonderful carnival, the talent and skills, love and devotion are plain to see.
