Kyusho - Wing Chun - Mook Jong Applications
Here is a gift from us to you this Holiday Season. Each month a film is added to the Platinum Video Subscription at no charge to our subscribers. Here is a 15 minute clip of a Vlog - monthly Video Blog #11, free as a sample. The Mook Jong is by far the best training tool other than a live person, for Kyusho around. Above is a film from 25 years ago performing the 108 move set on my old training friend. This is a small sample of the first 3 of 108 ideas from the form, incorporating the Ji Hands, that are present in Wing Chun with alternate names. Training on a human of course is the ultimate method, but conditioning the hands and actions on a solid wood form has many benefits. It includes Chi Sao, Striking, Chi Gerk and all the basics of Wing Chun, The wood is far superior training material for the Ji Hands, but massage after the conditioning is important. This dissipates any of the calcium buildup you may otherwise have. Dit Da Jow is not necessary to use. Benefits: -The wood absorbs the blow and retains the feel of the training and energetic transfers placed into it... it has the texture, construction and fibrous rigidity as the human skeleton so it reflects a truer feeling than say a heavy bag or Bob mannequin. -The solidity and planted positioning gives it the feel of a much larger physical opponent so you learn to move around the opponent as you continuously direct your energy at the core. -It does have the flex and yield that you will also get when striking an opponent. -It lets you know if you have deployed the weapon correctly whereas a heavy bag as it flexes cannot. -It let's you know when the transfer of energy by the correct hand weapon is used by not only feel, but sound and action on the entire structure. -It conditions the hands also to fortify them without the disfigurement. -It prepares you to be able to strike a hard skull, body, leg or trunk with penetrating power and at the same time understand the limits of your own body so you do not damage yourself striking with too much power. This again has so many benefits for your, especially if you work with the same tools and body actions as you do in your high stress, tactical training sessions.
