Bird Chat: Magee Marsh,Ohio —Warbler Mecca by Mark Hainen

Songbirds migrating north to breed in the forests on the northeastern U.S. and Canada may have to cross Lake Erie. They often stop and feed in the last woods left on the south side of the lake in a special place called the Magee Marsh. Popularity of the site is absolutely crazy as birders from all over want to catch glimpses of these beautiful warblers and other songbirds.. The Biggest Week in American Birding is a festival built around this migration phenomenon in mid May. Our Bird Chat speaker Mark Hainen is from that part of Ohio and lives part of the year there (part here). Mark is an excellent photographer and birder (he is a trip leader at the North Shore Birding Festival). In this Bird Chat, Mark shares with us what you can see in spring at the Magee Marsh.
