Should You Mix RAM Kits?

Have you ever questioned whether combining different RAM kits could wreak havoc on your PC's performance? In this video, I put it to the test by pairing a 32GB LEXAR THOR DDR4 3200MHz CL16 kit with a 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 3466MHz CL14 kit. I delve into gaming and productivity benchmarks to uncover whether mixing RAM is truly as problematic as it's often claimed to be. Important Note #1: I ran comprehensive memory tests on the DDR4 RAM featured in this video, and it passed with flying colours. Unfortunately, I didn’t include this information in the video—a big oversight on my part. While the DDR4 RAM performed flawlessly during testing, this may not always be the case. I strongly recommend running memory tests if you plan to mix DDR4 RAM or perform overclocking, as it’s essential to ensure stability. Important Note #2: Throughout this video, I am using DDR4 RAM. Please be aware that DDR4 and DDR5 RAM cannot be mixed or used together. No motherboard supports the use of different DDR RAM generations simultaneously, so it’s crucial to avoid attempting this.
