Introduction to the Tissue Arrayer - Beecher Instrument

I apologize for the music, it really dates this video. This is an instructional video I produced back in 2001 on the first TMA instrument on the market, the Beecher Instrument. This video explained some basic set up and techniques for using the original Beecher tissue microarray instrument. Manual TMA instruments are very difficulty to use for creating TMAs. This TMA instrument was my first experience in creating TMAs. I believe I was one of the first to acquire the instrument back in 1999 and I was one of the first to do a 4 hour workshop at a USCAP Histology conference. At that time there was no instructional material on how to use the instrument. Through my experiences in dealing with problems in creating TMAs, I developed the Arraymold TMA instrument. The manual ways of constructing TMAs was very time consuming, tedious and required a lot of hand eye coordination. The Arraymold simplified the process making it faster and the TMA blocks cleaner and more accurate. Plus these manual and automated TMA instruments are large and very expensive. The Arraymold changed all of that. To see more instructional videos please visit us at: http://www.arraymold.com Articles Published on Tissue Microarray methods and techniques by Thom Jensen.
