This video demonstrates releasing the quadriceps at the knee. The function of the quadriceps is to straighten or extend the knee. Only one of the quadriceps, the rectus femoris, flexes the hip. This video deals only with the knee function of the quadriceps. You'll need to grab some pillows or couch cushions to place under the working knee. Releasing the quadriceps not only helps with thigh, knee and hip pain, it often also helps with low back stiffness and pain.
