"Breaking is a dance style born through the oppression of marginalized groups - namely African American and Latinx populations - that has transformed into an artistic movement spanning across diverse groups all over the world. Hip hop is a community that I had the choice to join. Since I was born, I was pressured to fit into a mold crafted by my parents to uphold our familial pride. My story is not unique, and my voice echoes the thoughts of so many other young Vietnamese Americans.
