My DJI Flip Malfunctioned During RTH!

I set out to test the flight time of all three of my DJI drones — the Neo 2, the Flip, and the Mini 5 Pro. The plan was simple: fly until the battery runs low, let auto-RTH take over, and see which drone lasts the longest. But nothing went according to plan. 🔋 What happened: • DJI Neo 2 — completed its flight without issues (~10–15 min) • DJI Mini 5 Pro — test cut short when it started raining • DJI Flip — flew for almost 30 minutes, then during RTH it suddenly flew up to 130 meters and became a full flyaway — completely uncontrollable I could only watch and hope. The DJI Flip fell out of the sky — no warning, no explanation. A real flyaway event with no clear cause. 🗺️ Luckily, DJI's Find My Drone feature saved the day. I followed the map on my controller and tracked it down by its beeping signal. Found it — still in one piece, but clearly something went wrong electronically. The test isn't finished. Once I've confirmed the Flip still works, I'll retry the full battery comparison. Stay tuned for Part 2. This is a reminder that electronics can always fail — no matter how reliable your gear usually is. 👍 If this was useful or entertaining, a like really helps the channel! 🔔 Subscribe for more real-world DJI drone tests, cinematic tips, and honest gear reviews. --- ⏱️ Chapters: 00:00 Intro — Testing 3 drones, 1 battery each 00:17 The plan: Neo 2, Flip & Mini 5 Pro 00:40 Taking off & flying 01:48 It starts raining — test interrupted 02:09 DJI Flip flyaway & RTH malfunction 02:30 Using Find My Drone to locate the crash 02:59 What happened?
