10 HABITS A WORSHIP MINISTER SHOULD AVOID

EPISODE 001: 10 UNHEALTHY HABITS OF A MUSIC MINISTER INTRODUCTION It is easy to embrace bad habits without knowledge. It is also easy for our human nature and human weaknesses to stand in the way of our being excellent music ministers. Being aware of these negative traits, intentionally working on them, and monitoring one’s growth are essential. 1. Refusing correction (UNTEACHABLE) 2. Dodging Responsibility (UNACCOUNTABLE) 3. Feeling owed special treatment (ENTITLEMENT) 4. Selfishness and Craving for the spotlight (NEED FOR ATTENTION) 5. Bending to Please People (PEOPLE PLEASER) 6. Laziness in embracing growth and flexibility (COMPLACENCY) 7. Chronic Lateness or bad scheduling (POOR TIME STEWARDSHIP) 8. Showing up unready (UNPREPAREDNESS) 9. Prayerlessness (SPIRITUAL LAZINESS) 10. Perfectionism (CRITICALISM) Excellence is different from perfectionism. It hurts the team when all we need is spotlessness without process. Excellence happens progressively. Everyone should embrace progressing in the right direction and not get lost in the unreal pursuit of perfection! Acceptance of what can’t change as we work on what we can change or develop is crucial. 2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
