Hackers Destruyen Telefónica (Lo Contamos Todo)

Telefónica was hacked three times. Three different groups, three completely different techniques, and in none of the three cases was the entry point what you'd expect. In 2017, WannaCry paralyzed the Madrid headquarters in a matter of hours. This ransomware exploited a publicly leaked NSA vulnerability, for which a patch had been available two months before the attack. In January 2025, the HellCat group spent nearly a year accumulating stolen credentials from 531 employee computers. They logged into Jira as legitimate employees, moved silently for four days, and exfiltrated 2.3 GB of internal data. No ransom demanded. Just to gain notoriety. In June 2025, a database containing 22 million Movistar customer records—name, ID number, and phone number—appeared on a dark web forum. Price: $1,500. In this video, I explain how each case went through, what techniques they used, and what this says about the security of the companies that protect your data.
