In this first part, the Explorando Zacatecas team ventures into an ejido (communal land) in the municipality of General Enrique Estrada, Zacatecas, to discover a place steeped in history and mystery: the Ex Estancia del Bote, a structure dating back to the hacienda era. Accompanied by our friend Manuel Gómez, who kindly extended the invitation, we began this exploration by walking through a very peculiar structure that, according to our theory, may have been an old pond belonging to the estate… although its shape and characteristics left us with many questions 🤔 During the tour, we also found the remains of old rooms, where Don Manuel shared that he and his family stayed on several occasions, adding an even more personal touch to this place filled with memories. Nature also made its presence felt 🌿: we witnessed the first mesquite trees blooming this season, walked along the stream where the water originated, and observed fruit trees remnants of old orchards, as well as a tall, green, and leafy pine tree that stood out in the landscape.
