About the summer semester: Under the motto "Mental Distress of Young People," Thomas Bock will engage with family members, psychiatric professionals, and practitioners in the summer semester of 2025 to discuss the mental health situation of children and adolescents. How do crises, long-term COVID, and other long-term consequences of COVID-19 affect the mental health of future generations? How multifaceted are the interactions between psychosis and addiction, and what real and societal conflicts lie behind them? How has the discourse on ADHD changed, and is neurodivergence emancipation or resignation? About the lecture series: Since its inception in 2000, the goal of the "Anthropological Psychiatry" lecture series has been to convey a human perspective on mental illness, not to reduce it to deviations from norms or the consequences of derailed transmitters. From this perspective, the necessary support also takes on a political dimension: helpful psychiatry requires good social, housing, and municipal policies.
