Carlos Ruiz Zafón
Barcelona-born, LA-based author Carlos Ruiz Zafón writes fantastical literary thrillers packed with intrigue and adventure -- with books themselves at their very centre. In conversation for the Wheeler Centre with writer and broadcaster Sian Prior, he talks about being the odd one out in his family, the mechanics behind his plotlines, writing about Barcelona, his thoughts on 'young adult fiction', the much-feared death of the bookshop and much more. Carlos Ruiz Zafón appeared with the support of the Consulate of Spain, plus Sydney Writers' Festival, Auckland Writers & Readers Festival and the City of Melbourne.
