A sea without Crosses
On 24 May 1941, HMS Hood, pride of the Royal Navy, was lost in the cold waters of the North Atlantic during her battle with Bismarck. Of her crew of 1,418 men, only three survived. This song is a tribute to the sailors of HMS Hood and to all those who never returned from the sea. It tells a story of duty, sacrifice, loss and remembrance, following Hood's final voyage and the tragic fate of both Hood and Bismarck. Beyond the guns and the battle, it remembers the men, the families who waited at home, and the countless lives claimed by the North Atlantic. May they never be forgotten. HMS Hood (1918–1941) In memory of all sailors lost at sea Lest we forget
