Timelapse—Gettysburg Historic House Move

Watch a time-lapse of Wolfe House & Building Movers relocating a historic Gettysburg home beside the Dobbin House Tavern. Wolfe moved the 96-ton structure approximately 50 feet from its original location to make way for a new public park and gathering space celebrating America's 250th anniversary and the 250th anniversary of the Dobbin House itself. Unlike many building moves driven by development or flood protection, this relocation was undertaken to preserve both the historic building and the site's future role as a place of public education and community engagement. Its former site is being transformed into a park featuring historical documents, interpretive elements, and contributions from several partners, creating a public space that connects visitors and residents to Gettysburg’s rich heritage. Projects like this demonstrate that preservation and progress do not have to be competing goals. Through structural moving, historic buildings can be saved while communities reimagine and develop their public spaces. Read more about the project: https://www.wolfehousebuildingmovers....
