CINTERO: Cómo fue la Primera Ascensión al Puro (Riglos)

Ángel López Martínez, known as "Cintero", is one of Spain's most prominent climbers. Born in Zaragoza in 1936, he began his climbing career at the age of 15, and quickly joined figures such as Alberto Rabadá and Manuel Bescós. In 1953, he achieved a historic feat by making the first ascent of Puro de Riglos with his team, a milestone that consolidated him as one of the great mountaineers in Spain. Throughout his career, Cintero opened numerous routes, including the famous Serón-Millán in the Mallos de Riglos, and pioneered challenges that marked the history of climbing. Throughout his life, he has received several awards and recognitions, such as the Insignia de Oro de Montañeros de Aragón and the Honorary Award of the Pirineos Mountain Film Festival in 2024. His legacy lives on as a symbol of the audacity and pioneering spirit of Spanish climbing.
