Tohoku University will celebrate its 115th anniversary in 2022. It also marks exactly 100 years since the Faculty of Law and Letters was established in 1922, marking the university's journey as a comprehensive university. Tohoku University was founded with the support of citizens, businesses, and local governments. In the 115 years since its founding, the university has continued to produce leaders who will lead the change of the times as a "university in harmony with society."
