A shooting occurred in Shulin District, New Taipei City, early this morning (17th). The suspected Mingren Society headquarters of the Bamboo Union gang was targeted with eight shots, shattering windows and leaving the ground in disarray. Fortunately, no one was injured. Police investigations revealed that late on the night of the 13th, members of the Mingren Society, allegedly seeking to collect a debt of NT$40,000, went to a motel in Sanxia and stabbed a 23-year-old man surnamed Jiang and a man surnamed Xu. Jiang, seemingly harboring resentment, returned to the Mingren Society headquarters three days later with a gun, firing eight shots at the building before riding an electric scooter to the police station to turn himself in. Police immediately launched an investigation, and all suspects have been apprehended. Some have been detained or released on bail pending further investigation.
