Mammutmarsch Hannover 2024 | 30 KM Extremwanderung | Extremwandern in Niedersachsen | es war mega 🦣🦣

A hiking event of superlatives, this time in Hanover. On September 28, 2024, it was that time again – the Mammoth March in Hanover. The start and finish line was, as in the previous year, at the new Hanover City Hall. This year, for the first time, hikers had three distances to choose from: 30, 42, or even 55 kilometers. I opted for the 30-kilometer route again. Unlike the 55-kilometer route – which was identical to last year's – the 30-kilometer hikers had a new route. The route initially led along the Maschsee lake towards the Eilenriede forest. The first aid station was located there at approximately 10 kilometers. The route then continued to the Mittelland Canal. We followed the canal for several kilometers before heading back towards the Maschsee. Before that, the second aid station was located at the Annateich pond, just under 20 kilometers from the finish. About 5 kilometers from the finish, a real downpour hit, and I had to put on my rain gear after all. There had been a few scary-eyed thunderstorms beforehand, but no real rain. Fortunately, the rain didn't last long, and I was able to run around Lake Maschsee in glorious sunshine. The weather held up until I crossed the finish line. It was a truly green route, with some of Hanover's highlights, both big and small. I had a great time again, and I hope you enjoy watching this video too. Enjoy! Jens
