2012 Impreza Cruise Control Install

I bought a base model manual transmission Impreza without cruise control and it drove me nuts! I commuted to work on interstate and needed to have it. I called a Subaru dealer and asked if there was a kit for adding cruise to my car and they told me there was not; they said I would have to install an aftermarket/universal cruise control like the Rostra brand. I don't take lightly to people telling me something isn't possible, so I researched and found these cars to all be wired for certain features from the factory, despite the trim level. So in theory, I could plug in a cruise control switch from a higher trim level Impreza and it should work. I searched a 2012 Subaru Impreza parts manual for the trim level with cruise control to find the part number of the switch, which turned out to be 83154FJ040 in this instance.
