In The Metal returns this week for the first in a new run of informal conversations with the people of contemporary independent watchmaking. Joining US Master Watchmaker Dan Spitz and indie sector specialist Johnny McElherron on this episode, Rune Bakkendorff is a prodigious young talent from just outside Copenhagen in Denmark, who has already chalked up some quite impressive accomplishments on his CV. An award winning graduate of the Danish School of Watch and Clockmaking, Rune further refined his craft in Switzerland, under the watchful eye of independent legend Thomas Prescher, and the influences of his mentor's signature steampunk styling are evident on his brand new Byjra collection.
