Stockholm to Berlin and (much) beyond. Episode one: Cycling in Sweden.

In the summer of 2024, I set off by bike from my home north of Stockholm on a journey without a set destination but rather a direction: pedaling south, at least towards the Swedish city of Helsingborg and then who knows, maybe further. This episode tells the story of the 660 km ride, done in 7 days. Various travel considerations, on the place, the environment and Scandinavian society. What is it like to pedal in Sweden? The journey, which as already mentioned does not have a set destination, nor a route, was born from the desire to test and improve some aspects of my personal bicycle touring: goal no. 1: heading south goal no. 2: spend less than my previous times goal no. 3: do not stay in hotels/B&Bs when in Sweden and more generally, look for alternatives goal no. 4: improve my daily mileage goal no. 5: testing my gears, such the practicality and efficiency of the bikepacking setup (no pannier racks), the aerobars and the new tubeless tires setup.
