Part 2 is here:    • 【大都市にいこう】新潟の本気が自称ビルマニアを感服させるぐらいすごかった件　～新潟編...   When you think of Niigata Prefecture, you might imagine it's just a place with delicious rice, clean water, and the opportunity to enjoy skiing in the winter! To overturn that image, "Poritan," a Burmese enthusiast (Osaka native) who has never been to Niigata, decided to visit the city for myself. It's just over a five-hour overnight bus ride from Tokyo. The first thing I noticed upon setting foot in Niigata was the cold, and I soon noticed how quickly the weather changes. This alone suggests that there must be significant differences in lifestyle compared to the Kansai and Kanto regions. Afterwards, I walked around Niigata Station, Niigata's proud downtown areas like Furumachi and Honmachi, and across historic bridges like the Bandai Bridge. Wherever I walked, I was struck by the spacious urban design that left me gasping for breath. My impression of Niigata as "a fun, no-brainer town for skiing (sorry)" changed to "a scenic metropolis embraced by the sea and mountains" after actually walking around the city. That's why I can't stop touring the city. We'll bring you a selection of Niigata's amazing and rich charms that you can't get enough of by watching TV or reading blog articles. It was difficult to pack all of Niigata's charm into a short 19-minute video, so we've split it into two parts.
