What Happens When You Complete Your Toy Collection!?
He Completed Almost ALL of G1?! Ultra-Rare Japanese Exclusives in a Tiny Room Join this channel to get access to perks: / @pixeldantoyhunts In Norway for Norwegian Toy Con, we visited Jørgen—one of the show runners—and stepped into a tiny office that hides one of the most complete and curated G1 Transformers collections I’ve ever filmed. I’m not a hardcore Transformers collector…but this room might have converted me. From Diaclone pre-TFs to Japanese-only variants like Twincast, Soundblaster, God Ginrai, Grand Maximus, and Black Zarak, to controversial Action Masters, fragile gold plastic nightmares, and even store signs from 80s Japan—this is a museum-quality crash course in the entire G1 era (1984–1992). We start at 1984–1986 with the classics, then dive into Japanese exclusives (gray Megatron w/ sword, blue-window Optimus, Twincast, Soundblaster). Jørgen explains the pre-TF roots (Diaclone/Micro Change), why Ironhide/Ratchet look headless, and shows a blue Broadcast/Twincast that holds two cassettes. We climb to the big boys—Fortress/Grand Maximus and Scorponok/Black Zarak—and talk dreaded gold plastic syndrome. He even owns extremely rare Penbots (triple-changing pen vehicles), variants like Red Tracks (European short run), chrome-heavy Browning, die-cast Metalhawk, and a luminous wall of Micromasters and Victory characters (hello, Deathsaurus). We cover Power Master Optimus vs God Ginrai, Doubledealer repaints, and the misunderstood Action Masters—and whether they “killed the line.” Then, a curveball: Beastformers (aka Battle Beasts) including chase translucents and gashapon oddities—plus French color variants of minibots (vibrant Cosmos, Warpath, Beachcomber, Huffer/Puffer). Jørgen opens cabinets filled with test shots, unreleased colors, and giveaway whites from Japanese promos. There are even Transformers-branded watch robots (Chronoform cousins), and store price tags from Norway—a time-capsule for local collectors. Finally, we pivot to an obscure love: PHOTON—a laser-tag TV tie-in that never got its full toyline. Jørgen has hardcopy paint masters, engineering copies, wax sculpts, and unreleased prototype heads. It’s pure toy history—and he’s very protective of it (“Photon is mine!”). If you’re a Transformers veteran, you’ll enjoy the rare variants and prototypes. If you’re new like me, this is the perfect “G1 in one room” tour—with a splash of Diaclone, Beastformers, and unreleased TV-toy lore. Massive thanks to Norwegian Toy Con for the hospitality—this show is intimate, friendly, and absolutely worth the trip.
