Safer, Energy Efficient Homes in Macedonia: Why We Renovate Block of Flats in Skopje

Skopje resident Lile Kik explores the benefits of renovating apartment buildings for energy efficiency through Habitat for Humanity's not-for-profit loan programme. These tower blocs in Macedonia’s capital, Skopje, were built as part of a vision for a better future which saw a housing boom 30 years ago. But they were built from low-quality materials which have suffered from years of neglect. The flats are leaky, poorly insulated and leave families poorer due to very high energy bills. 🔨 SUBSCRIBE 🔨 for more stories from our volunteers and our work to bring safe, decent homes to the most vulnerable worldwide.
