From there it slips into the backstreets and covered arcades of Minami, emerging at Ebisubashi beneath the glowing Glico sign on the Dotonbori canal — a waterway dug in the 1610s that became Osaka's great theater and food district. The route follows the Tombori Riverwalk, then winds through Sennichimae, the lantern-lit alleys of Hozenji Yokocho, and the retro izakaya lanes of Ura-Namba, before threading the full length of the Shinsaibashi-suji arcade, dipping into the underground city, and finally settling into the quieter streets around Namba Station.
