No perfect conditions today, and that’s exactly the point. I’m back on my usual local trails, but this time in proper wet, slippery weather. With the Welsh TET coming up in June, riding in rain and mud is all part of the training. Wales (and most of this part of the world) doesn’t guarantee dry days, so it’s important to get comfortable when things get sketchy. This ride was also about checking trail conditions after a tough winter and recent storms ahead of a fully loaded test camp with Jonny and Owen. A lot of tracks have changed; washed-out sections, deeper ruts, and plenty of reminders that nature always has the final say. It was great to get back out, brave the elements, and put a bit of money in the bank ahead of the big Welsh TET trip in June. We’ve got a loaded test trip coming up at the end of February, so stay tuned, plenty more adventure to come.
