Welcome back to the Judith Plains Montana Farm Timelapse. The corn harvest continues with two combines working side by side, unloading grain into support trailers as they move across the field. Once the final rows are cleared, the harvested corn is transported directly to the distillery, where whiskey production is restarted. Additional dried corn from storage is also delivered, and with the remaining ingredients already available, the production line comes back online. With corn completed, we transition immediately into the next operation—oat harvesting with integrated straw pellet production. All required equipment is brought to the field, including the correct combine headers, pelletizers, tractors, pickup trucks, and specialized low-bed trailers. The system is designed for continuous one-pass harvesting. Two combines begin threshing oats while tractors behind them process the straw into pellets using on-field pelletizers. Pickup trucks follow close behind, receiving finished pellets directly into trailers. At the same time, additional tractors with transfer trailers collect oats from the combines without interrupting harvesting. Every machine works in synchronized formation, allowing multiple tasks to be completed in a single pass with minimal downtime. The only pauses come when oats are transferred into truck trailers for transport. The first finished products from the oat field are already leaving the farm. Pickup trucks loaded with straw pellets head to the selling point, expected to generate around $200,000, while the first loads of harvested oats are delivered to the mill for processing. This episode showcases advanced harvesting logistics, synchronized machinery, and how one field can produce multiple profit streams at the same time.
