#CouncilOfEuropeSummit 🔴 Arrival of Heads of State and Government 🔴 Opening session (Tuesday 16 May, 5.45 pm-6.45 pm, Reykjavik time) A historic opportunity for the Council of Europe to refocus its mission, in the light of new threats to democracy and human rights, and to support Ukraine. Heads of State and Government from the 46 Council of Europe member states will meet on 16 and 17 May in Reykjavik (Iceland) to reaffirm their common commitment to the core values of the Council of Europe and to refocus its mission in the light of new threats to human rights and democracy, and to further support Ukraine. At the end of the #CouncilOfEuropeSummit, Iceland will hand over the Presidency of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers to Latvia.
