Join us on a relaxed family walking tour across Sharjah and Dubai’s waterfronts, exploring how these coastal spaces work for all ages, from small children to senior citizens. This journey is especially meaningful as we are walking together with my niece and nephew, both young kids experiencing these places with curiosity and excitement, and my dad, a senior citizen enjoying the slower pace, open views and accessible walkways. It is a great way to see how family friendly and walkable these waterfronts really are. We begin at Al Qasba in Sharjah, where the calm canal, cafés and open promenades make it ideal for families. The kids enjoy watching boats pass by, while shaded paths and seating areas make it comfortable for seniors. Next, we explore Al Khalidiya, a quieter stretch by the sea that offers wide open views and a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a gentle walk with children and elderly family members. We then head to Al Khan, known for its beachside paths and lagoon scenery. It is lively yet relaxed, with plenty of space for kids to move around safely. Crossing into Dubai, we visit Al Mamzar Beach, where green parks meet the shoreline, offering one of the best family friendly coastal environments in the city. We end at the Palm Jumeirah Boardwalk, showcasing Dubai’s modern waterfront with long, accessible walkways and stunning sea views.
