Sega Dreamcast Mod - Battery, Fuse & Capacitor Mod Replacement - Retfurb Vintage Refurb

In this video we strip down the Sega Dreamcast, Carry out a replacement of the internal CMOS battery, Resettable fuse resistor, controller board Capacitor and then show how to put it all back together again. Sega released the Dreamcast to the Japanese market in 1998 and then to Europe in 1999. The unit we are working on today is a PAL European model. A common issue on the Dreamcast models, Is that due to age the internal CMOS battery discharges. This then causes the need to input the date/time, each time the console is turned on. This modification removes the fixed internal battery on the joypad input circuit board and replaces it with a removable battery type. This particular console is in use regularly, So it is now time to sort out this annoying issue. I will also be doing further refurbs to this console in the future. This includes cleaning the console, removing the yellowing occurred from UV damage and replacing the internal capacitors.
