Thomas, Rosie & Percy Engine Tours is one of the fan favourite Thomas Land rides at Drayton Manor, giving guests the chance to travel across The Island of Sodor on board Thomas, Rosie or Percy. This ride features Thomas the Tank Engine travelling between Knapford Station and Tidmouth Hault Station, offering a classic Thomas & Friends train journey through Thomas Land. The ride opened with Thomas Land in 2008 and remains one of the most recognisable attractions in the area. Thomas, Rosie and Percy operate along the railway route, with trains running between the Thomas Land station area and the station close to Drayton Manor Zoo. Thomas the Tank Engine is the central character from Thomas & Friends and The Railway Series books. Thomas is a blue tank engine with the number 1 on his side, known for working on the Island of Sodor with engines including Percy, James, Gordon, Henry, Edward, Toby, Emily and Rosie. Percy is Thomas’s close friend, while Rosie is another popular engine who appears in Thomas Land as part of the Engine Tours attraction. Thomas Land at Drayton Manor officially opened on 15 March 2008 on the former site of Robinsons Land. The area expanded on 8 April 2015, adding more Thomas & Friends rides, themed areas and Island of Sodor locations. Today, Thomas Land includes over 25 rides and attractions, including Troublesome Trucks Runaway Coaster, Cranky’s Drop Tower, Harold’s Helicopter Tours, Jeremy Jet’s Flying Academy, Blue Mountain Engines, Toby’s Tram Express, James and the Red Balloon, Thomas & Percy’s Submarine Splash and Thomas, Rosie & Percy Engine Tours. Thomas & Friends is based on The Railway Series books created by Reverend Wilbert Awdry, with the first book published in 1945. The television series first aired in 1984 and helped make Thomas the Tank Engine one of the most famous railway characters in the world. Drayton Manor’s Thomas Land brings those characters, stories and Sodor locations into a real theme park setting.
