Medan, MISTAR.ID A 28-year-old woman in Medan recklessly threatened an employee at a cell phone store on Jalan SM Raja, Medan City, with a sharp weapon. Her actions were caught on camera and caused panic among customers. The woman, later identified as Adinda Putri, arrived alone and initially posed as a customer. She chatted with the employee, Adela Nurhamdah, 26, about the price of a cell phone. However, the situation changed when a commotion broke out in front of the store. When security officers exited, the woman immediately launched her attack. She pulled a sharp weapon from her bag and held the victim by the throat, threatening her and demanding her money back. This reckless act immediately attracted the attention of other customers. Several customers and security officers responded quickly and managed to restrain Adinda, rescuing her unharmed. Adinda told police she was upset and felt cheated. She had been lured by a Rp 2 million (approximately US$1,000) promotion for the iPhone 13 from a TikTok account impersonating the cell phone store. Adinda then transferred Rp 2 million (approximately US$1,000) to the police. However, the account owner asked for additional payments in installments, reaching a total of Rp 10 million. The promised goods were never received. Frustrated, Adinda went to the store and demanded her money back, even though the store never offered such a promotion.
