Orangeburg Pipe Failure

Called to the job for a kitchen sink that was backing up. Multiple contractors gave various, inconclusive diagnosis' to the problem. We determined the main line was plugged and located the problem. In this video we will attempt to repair the problem while uncovering even more. Orangeburg pipe! This is bituminized fiber pipe made with layers of wood pulp fibers and asbestos fibres compressed and soaked with liquefied coal tar pitch. Talk about old school! In the end we get the job done and complete the repair until such a time as the remaining piping and septic system is replaced. Thanks for watching and enjoy!
