At 10:15 PM yesterday, her 18-year-old firstborn, Maria Farò, gave birth to a sweet baby girl they named Jacqueline. The little girl was born at the Biancavilla hospital but represents the fourth generation of a family from Adrano whose women have always become mothers at a young age. The little girl's young parents are beaming: 18-year-old Maria Farò and 20-year-old Nunzio Bulla, a farm laborer with a passion for Neapolitan songs. But at the Biancavilla hospital, the focus was also on Jacqueline's young grandmother, considering that Maria Grazia Vitanza was also very young when she became a mother: precisely 13, and at 17 she was already the mother of two girls. The "baby grandma," who has lived in Germany for years with her 13-year-old daughter Sabrina and her husband Franco Farò, a 36-year-old tenor, recently returned to Adrano from Munich to be with her daughter Maria. This morning at the Biancavilla hospital, it was a joyful time, with many visitors for little Jacqueline, the latest addition to a splendid four-generation family: her mother Maria Farò (18), her grandmother Maria Grazia Vitanza (31), and her great-grandmother Maria Lanza (52). Also delighted was Jacqueline's paternal grandmother, Mrs. Maria Conti, 52, who also became a grandmother at a very young age at 34.
