The customer arrived in a 2011 Ford Focus MK3 with a 1.6 TI-VCT 125 HP petrol engine. The main issue the customer pointed out was a noticeably louder engine noise under the hood. The customer compared the engine sound to a diesel engine. After listening to the engine, despite the typical piston-slap noises common in this type of engine, we suspected the variable valve timing pulleys, as the loudest noise was coming from under the timing cover. At the customer's request, we replaced the timing belt kit with water pump and the variable valve timing pulleys.
