Then Kevin Cronin came back with power ballads, sold 10 million copies of Hi Infidelity, and pushed Richrath out. Richrath refused to play Cronin's songs, drank himself into the ground, and died at 65. In 2024, Cronin got outvoted by his own partners using the exact same move he used in 1989.
