Does love mean approval, affirmation, or freedom from consequences? In this powerful Bible teaching, we explore one of the most misunderstood truths in Christianity: God's unconditional love. God's love never changes. There is nothing you can do to make Him love you more, and there is nothing you can do to make Him love you less. He demonstrated that love by sending Jesus Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Through Romans 8:31-39, we discover that nothing can separate us from the love of God. Yet Scripture also reveals that God's love does not eliminate accountability, discipline, or consequences. We take a deeper look at Jeremiah 29 and uncover the context behind the famous promise of Jeremiah 29:11. God spoke those words to His people while they were living in captivity—a captivity that resulted from their own disobedience. Even though their circumstances changed, God's love for them never did.
