In the new episode of the "Lighthouse" podcast, we spoke with Marika Mikiashvili, Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Georgian opposition party Droa, Coalition for Change. In this episode, we discussed the similarities and differences between the two authoritarian regimes in Georgia and Serbia, how Georgia slid into authoritarianism, and whether Serbia might face a “Georgian scenario.” Marika Mikiashvili talked about how Georgian Dream managed to shift the domestic political narrative in a direction favourable to Russia, what led to the protests in Georgia known as “Gavrilov's Night,” and what the so-called “Russian law” is and what impact it has had on Georgian civil society and the country’s democratic front.
