Lately, I've felt the world has become strange. It's not the first time, I confess. Strangeness is an experience that occurs when the reality one lives in ceases to be the only one, and this is possible when there's something to compare it to. The world first seemed strange to me when I read my first novel as a child. Being captivated by the literary world made me feel, quite literally, somewhere else. It was Robinson Crusoe by Daniel Defoe. For me, the atmosphere of that island, the castaway's industrious solitude, the fear of the cannibalistic visitors performing an abominable ritual… made me feel like I was in another world.
