Someone doesn't respect our boundaries. Someone insults us. Someone treats us disrespectfully. And suddenly it's no longer about safety. It's about status. About being right. About getting your way. About who gives in. This is where it gets interesting. Because many people aren't even in real danger yet—but they behave in ways that can turn a status conflict into a real threat.
