DBG: Ford C4 Transmission, Valve Body Initial Tear down For A 750+ Hp Ford 351 Cleveland Part 4
This part 4 in my Ford C4 transmission rebuild series. This shows the reverse drum, gear, and output shaft installation, and basics of the valve body. I also will start to remove Valve Body from Billet body, and separator plate. I two other videos, more detailed on actually running all the valves, and front pump maintenance. This transmission is behind my 775hp, 409ci, Ford 351 Cleveland. Previously the engine made 752hp, and after some changes, picked up a few hp. I have never ran it yet. This trans brake Valve Body, is full manual reverse pattern. It was originally installed when I had sent my C4 to Performance Automatic in 2003. I sent it there to have it upgraded to their super comp level, and have trans brake installed. After rebuilding transmission myself after a couple of seasons, I saw that it was really nothing that impressive, and have since improved it dramatically with complete rollerization of the internals. The Valve Body has an internal solenoid, and I have had no issues with it. With previous rebuilds of the transmission, I have always ran the Valve body. This consists of tearing it down, and cleaning all valves, and making sure they all work. Brake parts cleaner, and compressed air are essential. The most important aspect, keeping the valves all in order. Video and pics are invaluable.
