Located in Kamisu City, Ibaraki Prefecture, is the Circuit Wolf Museum, designed by Satoshi Ikezawa. It displays around 30 rare supercars, primarily from the 1960s and 1970s, that appeared in the manga Circuit Wolf. I've been there many times myself, and have posted several related videos in the past. This time, we'll be focusing on the Lancia Stratos, one of the most popular cars on display! The Lancia Stratos was planned and developed from the beginning with the goal of winning the World Rally Championship, and in a sense, was sold commercially as a reluctant attempt to meet the regulations. It's a pure competition vehicle disguised as a sports car. At a time when works teams were routinely converting production cars into rally specs to compete in rallies, the custom-designed Stratos' competitive prowess was outstanding, and as planned, Lancia Works won the championship three years in a row. The Lancia Stratos is a unique supercar. The museum houses two cars: an original and a replica. The replica, which hadn't been on display for a while, has been restored to its classic works spec and is now back. This time, I was able to take both cars outside and drive them together, recording the driving scenes. Not only that, but I was also kindly given the opportunity to get behind the wheel of the original Stratos, so I'll be sharing my amateur impressions.
