[Webinar] ADHD: A Mind-Eye Perspective (05/21/2025)
In this presentation, Dr. Carla Adams—Director of Visual Rehabilitation at the Mind-Eye Institute—will explore the surprising connection between visual processing dysfunction and ADHD-like symptoms in both children and adults. 🎯 Nearly 90% of Mind-Eye Patients report improvement after Mind-Eye intervention. In this webinar we will cover: How symptoms of ADHD and visual processing issues often overlap Why traditional treatments may fall short for some patients How sensory integration and eye-ear coordination play critical roles in attention Real-life patient success stories using Mind-Eye’s innovative Brainwear™ glasses Whether you're a parent, educator, therapist, or health professional, this webinar will provide invaluable insights into a non-traditional, neuroscience-backed approach to managing attention challenges. -- 🎥 Presentation 2:00 Introductions 4:00 Agenda 4:30 What is ADHD? 5:55 Data & Statistics on ADHD 6:35 Is it ADHD or Problems with Visual Processing? 9:37 ADHD: The Mind-Eye Perspective 11:25: Peripheral Eyesight 17:20 Sensory Integration 20:53 Professions involved with ADHD 22:35 Actual Patients 23:45 Joel (Classical ADHD) 29:10 Macie (ADHD & Learning Delays) 32:10 Success Rate Statistics Mind-Eye 33:45 Conclusion 🤔 Q&A 36:45 How can you help my dyslexic child who most likely has adhd too? (Claudia) 37:40 What is the difference between audio and visual processing? Are they interconnected? Also, does processing deficits affect physicality (ie weakness, ability to incorporated bodily coordination and instruction in athletics)? (Allison) 38:30 What is happening when what I am looking for is right in front of me and I don’t “see” it? (Sandy) 39:45 Can the mind eye glasses help with resistance to completing undesirable tasks? (Kristine) 41:24 I suspect I have had some type of visual processing issue since childhood. I didn’t have a need for glasses until high school, astigmatism and nearsightedness, yet reading has always been very taxing for me. I started researching online some years ago and found much of the information on convergence insufficiency definitely resonates the issues I’ve experienced over the years. It wasn’t until I came across your site that I found I can also identify with many questions on the adhd and asd questionnaires. I’m in the process of going back to graduate school and would really like to gain some perspective. (Jodi) 44:45 My son and I both have ADHD and my son has great changes with mind wear, but always seems to max out the Rx, and takes steps backward. So I would love to hear more about this. As for me, I do feel more focused when I use my glasses! 😁 (Jamie) 46:50 How do the glasses help reduce social anxiety and help read social cues? 48:35 Can a person have good acuity and good auditory processing, but the two don't work together? 50:35 Are TBI symptoms similar to ADHD symptoms? 52:00 Is this program for adults as well? 54:00 My son just received his glasses for TBI and ADHD. He can only wear them for about 15 seconds so far. Will that make progress a lot slower? Have you seen the success rate for ADHD similar for someone who is also getting help with a TBI? 55:45 You mentioned that the journey may have ups and downs. What kind of “downs” do patients see? 1:02:15 I have LHH (Left Homonymous Hemianopsia), could this account for my balance or fine motor issues? Would hemianopsias classify as a processing disorder or is that too biologic rather than functional? 1:04:15 What is your prognosis and how much help can you provide people with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, dementia - neurodegenerative disorders, etc? 1:06:30 With TBI and prisms in glasses I remember Dr Z telling me I’d need them for life. Is this correct? 1:09:10 It is possible to have elements of both penlight and floodlight? E.g. light sensitivity in peripheral vision but inability to detect objects outside foveal vision? Asking as someone who is autistic and TBI. 1:10:25 The therapy school we are sending to actually sent us to you because there was no progress during this year would the glasses help boost the therapy that was already done?
