Summiting My First 6000m Peak: Tocllaraju 6034m (19,796') la Cordillera Blanca, Peru
Second attempt after a failed summit attempt on our first expedition. We were the first team to summit in over 2 years because of Covid! Early season conditions made route-finding difficult. I did not record many technical pitches that required belays and repels. I was simply too exhausted and was more focused on the climbing rather than the filming. Edgar, a mountain guide, fell about 15-20m into a crevasse while route-finding. We all made it safely back to basecamp after. We completed this summit with a single 20 hour, 39 minute push from basecamp to the summit and back to basecamp. 13 hours, 56 minutes from basecamp to the summit! An epic climb.
